Every Member Visitation
The church council has recently authorized an every member visitation to bring attention to program and financial needs as we look ahead to the final months of 2002 and begin planning the budget for next year. Twenty five members have volunteered to carry out these visits and one of these volunteers will be calling each member (or member family) in the next couple of weeks to schedule a visitation. We ask all member families to cooperate with the review process to hear more about program and financial plans from the volunteers. These visitations will be scheduled in late August and early September. Thanks to all members for considering these important issues impacting our future here at Grace Lutheran Church.
Welcome Rebecca
We are pleased to announce thatGrace has hired Rebecca Lee to fill the the newly created position of Christian Education Direrctor. She will work in conjunction with Leena Prindle, whose title is Youth and Family Director. Rebecca is a 2000 graduate of Trinity College and has worked as a teacher in two schools since completing her degree. She has a rich and interesting background in volunteerism, everything from working with juvenile offenders at Echo Glen to missionary trips to Mexico and Africa. In addition to her part time work here at Grace, Rebecca will continue to work with children as a teacher and aide at Eastside Christian School. Rebecca will be a wonderful addition to the Grace Lutheran Church staff.
New Church Directory
Time again to publish a new church directory. A proof of the new directory is in the Narthex, on the visitor's table. Please review and make corrections by August14th.
Summer Choir
The Grace Lutheran "Summer Choir" will assemble and sing for the third Sunday of each month during the summer: June 16, July 21, and August 18. Members of the congregation and visitors are welcome to join members of the Grace Sanctuary Choir and will learn and sing an anthem for each of these Sundays. Rehearsals during the week are not required! Just come to the Fireside Room by 8:30 a.m. on the designated Sundays for a 45-minute rehearsal prior to the service.
